Abstract

The rapid proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices has transformed various sectors, enhancing efficiency and connectivity. However, this growth has also introduced significant security challenges, making IoT ecosystems vulnerable to data breaches, unauthorized access, and cyberattacks. This paper explores the potential of blockchain technology as a robust solution for securing distributed IoT networks. By leveraging its decentralized architecture, immutability, and transparency, blockchain can enhance the integrity and authenticity of data exchanged between IoT devices. We discuss various blockchain frameworks and consensus mechanisms tailored for IoT applications, highlighting their benefits in improving security, scalability, and interoperability. Furthermore, the paper examines real-world case studies where blockchain has been successfully implemented to mitigate security risks in IoT environments. The findings suggest that integrating blockchain technology can significantly bolster the security posture of IoT ecosystems, paving the way for safer and more resilient networks. This paper aims to provide insights into the feasibility and effectiveness of blockchain solutions, advocating for its adoption as a critical component in the design of future IoT architectures.
