Abstract

The solubility and dissolution rate of drugs play pivotal roles in their therapeutic efficacy and bioavailability. However, a significant number of drug candidates face challenges related to poor solubility, which hampers their successful formulation into effective dosage forms. This abstract explores innovative strategies and novel approaches aimed at enhancing the solubility and dissolution rate of drugs to overcome these hurdles. One promising approach involves the utilization of nanotechnology, which offers a range of techniques such as nanocrystals, nanosuspensions, and nanoemulsions to improve drug solubility. These nanoscale formulations provide increased surface area and improved dispersibility, leading to enhanced dissolution rates and bioavailability. Furthermore, the application of solid dispersion techniques has emerged as a valuable tool for enhancing drug solubility.
